Physiotherapy is a complex diagnostics and treatment method conducted by a physiotherapist with the aim to improve the functional disorders of the skeletal system, heart and lungs.

The physiotherapist can help you with following problems

  • Pain in joints and muscles, including back and neck pain
  • Muscle strains and loss of muscular strength
  • Joint and spine movement disorders
  • Postural disorders, flatfootedness and other anatomic deformations
  • Postoperative recovery
  • Loss of exercise tolerance, cardiovascular diseases
  • Loss of respiratory function, e.g., for those suffering from COPD
  • Recovery and injury prevention for athletes

Which treatment methods and measures does a physiotherapist use?

Physiotherapeutic assessment and consulting:

  • Therapeutic exercises
  • Therapeutic exercises in water
  • Soft tissue therapy and different fascia release techniques
  • Joint manipulations and manual therapy methods
  • Kinesio taping and sports taping
  • Muscle energy techniques
  • Stretching therapy

Kinesio taping is a method, which is based on the natural healing process of the body. A specifically developed tape is used to lift the upper layer of the skin from the muscle-conjunctival or fascia, thus decreasing the pressure on never endings and easing pain. Different tape application methods are used, depending on whether the aim of the treatment is to lessen the pain in joints and muscles, promote or stabilize their operation/function or to improve lymph drainage and decrease edema.

Soft tissue therapy is performed by a physiotherapist. The physiotherapist uses different methods for easing muscular or joint pain, activating or relaxing muscles, smoothing the scar tissue: trigger points massage, rubbing of skin and hypodermic tissues, pressing muscle activation points, positional therapy and manual stretching. During a therapy session, the physiotherapist concentrates on one functional unit, for example when easing shoulder tension, the neck, shoulder, under shoulder blade and arm muscles and joints are processed. This results in normalised tension of soft tissues, length of muscle fibres and elasticity and improved muscle or joint function.

Stretching therapy helps to ease lower back pain, which may be caused by excess tension of back muscles or pressure on nerve root, which may be due to disk herniation or excess arthrosis of joints between vertebrae. Stretching therapy efficiently improves blood supply in the stretched area and eases muscular spasms. Indications: disk herniation, radiculopathic pain,  age related changes in disk structure, joint pains, wear of joints between vertebrae, lower back pain, back stiffness, pinched back nerve. Contraindications for stretch therapy – spinal trauma, osteoporosis, articular joint, glaucoma, high blood pressure, heart disease, tendency to bleed, tendency to faint, brain damage, cervical inflammation, song.

The purpose of kinesio taping is to recover, improve and promote the physiological movement of muscles and joints without restricting their movement. The tapes provide efficient help in case of sporting traumas. Tape band aids are popular among top sportsmen, because they promote the recovery of overburdened muscles or injuries. It is possible to use kinesio tape together with other types of therapies, such as massage, electrical treatment, etc.

Kinesio tape prevents muscular fatigue, promotes the functioning of a weak muscle, avoids overstretching or contractions, avoids the creation of muscular cramps, eases pain, decreases inflammation and edema, corrects joint problems, accelerates the healing of scar tissue and wound recovery. The kinesio taping is recommended during the period after a trauma or operation, in case of long-term muscular pain or for people who are performing work operations or sports activities that include only one type of movements (computer users, painters, dressmakers, javelin throwers, tennis players, etc).

Stretch therapy Master Care 30 min 15€   /

The aim of the therapy is to stretch the fascia, tendons and muscles, which may cause pain and sometimes apply pressure on nerves when too tense. The procedure is carried out on a special Master Care streching board in head upside down position and 15 to 30 degrees inclination angle with a combination of simple stretching exercises. The body’s own weight is the stretching force. Stretching therapy helps to ease lower back pain, which may be caused by excess tension of back muscles or pressure on nerve root, which may be due to disk herniation or excess arthrosis of joints between vertebrae.
